When and where is the event being held?
The 2026 Cody Johnson Championship Event presented by Tractor Supply Company takes place October 6–11, 2026, at the Huntington Bank Expo - 301 West Loop 121, Belton, TX 76513
Is the event free to attend?
Yes, most roping events throughout the week are free and open to the public, including Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.
- Tuesday, October 6: Breakaway Roping with Youth Incentive
- Wednesday, October 7: 10.5 Junior Roping, Open Junior Roping, and All-Girl Team Roping
- Thursday, October 8: The COJO Long Round
- Friday, October 9: 12.5 with 11.5 Incentive
- Sunday, October 11: Businessman's Roping and the free breakfast and church service
Saturday, October 10 is the only ticketed roping day. Tickets go on sale soon.
Do I need tickets for the Champs for Charity Event?
Yes. If you're attending the Cody Johnson's Champs for Charity on Friday evening, you will need to purchase a ticket. The event includes dinner and an acoustic set with Cody. Tickets are limited and are sold separately from the roping events. Get your tickets fast – It sells out.
Is this a family-friendly event?
Absolutely. The event is designed for all ages. There are youth ropings on Tuesday and Wednesday, a Building Champions Taco Night for FFA and Junior Ropers, and a welcoming environment throughout the week.
Will there be live music or entertainment?
Yes. A free church service with live music will be held on Sunday morning, October 11, following the breakfast.
The Friday night Champs for Charity Gala is also a great night out, with dinner and an acoustic set from Cody (separate tickets required).
After the Short Round on Saturday evening, there will be music in the Champions Lounge.
Will food and drinks be available?
Yes, concessions will be open during the main events. Dinner is included for those attending the ticketed Friday night gala, and a free breakfast is available Sunday morning before the church service.
Is parking free?
Yes, general parking is free at the Huntington Bank Expo. We recommend arriving early, especially on Saturday, as that is expected to be the busiest day.

Will there be vendors?
Yes! There will be plenty of fun retail booths for shopping!
Contestant & Competition FAQ
When does check-in open for contestants?
Check-in begins at 7:30 AM each day at the Huntington Bank Expo. All ropers must check-in prior to roping and sign release waivers.
Who can participate in the golf tournament?
The VIP/Sponsor Golf Tournament on Tuesday morning is by invitation only and is open exclusively to VIPs, sponsors, and open contestants. It is closed to the public.

What events are available for youth contestants?
- Breakaway Roping with Youth Incentive – Ages 18 & under on day of roping. Top 5 youth advance to Saturday’s short round.
- 10.5 Junior Roping – Presented by Cedar Gap Wealth Management. Open to youth Ages 18 & under on day of roping. Capped at 6 heeler.
- Open Junior Roping – Presented by Cedar Gap Wealth Management. Also for youth Ages 18 & under on day of roping.
- Youth Evening of Tacos, Guest Speaking and Motivation. Open to All Youth Ropers (Breakaway and Team Ropers) and FFA members.
Are there incentives available in the ropings?
Yes, many ropings feature 9.5, 11.5, and 16.5 incentive divisions, offering additional payout opportunities. Some include guaranteed cash awards for the highest-placing incentive teams.
What is the format for the COJO Team Roping?
The COJO presented by Tractor Supply Company is a 2-steer progressive-on-1 format in the long round.
- 50 Open teams and 10 Incentive teams advance to a clean-slate short round on Saturday.
- $750 per roper | Enter 3x (4x if one is an incentive entry)
- Incentive team guaranteed $5,000 payout
What is the Pro-Am Celebrity Invitational?
Held Saturday morning, this is a limited-entry event with 50 headers and 50 heelers. $650 per roper. 3 steer, progressive on 2. Pre-entry is required and headers/heelers are capped at #5.

Are the team ropings free to the public?
Yes! Please come out and watch the long round, where competitors will battle to qualify for the short round. The long round takes place October 8 and is free to the public. The other amateur events are also free to attend, and you’ll even get a chance to see Cody compete. The only ticketed event is on October 10.
Are there any social or charity events?
Yes!
- Tuesday Evening: Building Champions Taco Night for FFA & youth ropers.
- Friday Night: Champs for Charity Gala – includes dinner and acoustic concert from Cody. Western attire event.
- Saturday Evening: After the short round, there will be live music in the Champions Lounge
- Sunday Morning: Free breakfast and church service
What is the PRCA dress code and when is it required?
The PRCA dress code (collared shirts, cowboy hats, boots, etc.) is required on Saturday, especially for those competing in the short rounds and the Pro-Am. All other ropings will follow WSTR dress code.
